Sarcopenia in people living with HIV in Hong Kong: which definition correlates with health outcomes?

Introduction: Sarcopenia is an important clinical syndrome in older people living with HIV (PLWH). With a change to the Asia sarcopenia definition in 2019, we aimed to determine whether health outcomes were associated with different definitions of sarcopenia among Asian PLWH.

Methods: We performed a prospective cross-sectional study enrolling PLWH aged ≥35 years from January 2018 to November 2021.

Background: The adaptive immune responses of COVID-19 patients contributes to virus clearance, restoration of health and protection from re-infection. The patterns of and the associated characteristics with longitudinal neutralising antibody (NAb) response following SARS-CoV-2 infection are important in their potential association with the population risks of re-infection.

Methods: This is a longitudinal study with blood samples and clinical data collected in adults aged 18 or above following diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Objective: The aim was to explore the origin, content topics, teaching modes (instruction, interaction, and assessment), and corresponding social-epistemological dimensions (choices in knowledge transfer vs. knowledge building, and individual vs. group learning) of web-based information on kidney transplantation targeted for patients and living donors.

Stay Still's for POCUS: using bedside ultrasound to screen for cardiac complications.

Adult Still's disease (ASD) is a rare systemic inflammatory disorder of unknown etiology most commonly characterized by daily spiking fevers, an evanescent, 'salmon-colored' rash, and arthralgia. Cardiac complications such as pericarditis, myocarditis, heart failure, and pericardial effusion progressing to tamponade have been reported. Because of the severe and potentially lethal complications associated with these processes, the clinician's index of suspicion must remain high and the threshold for cardiac imaging low.

Development and application of a massive open online course to deliver innovative transplant education.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offer an entirely new course concept for delivering content and engaging learners. This method of teaching has huge potential for the field of transplant education. In this study we describe the development and implementation of the MOOC "Clinical Kidney, Pancreas and Islet Transplantation".
