The objective of this study was to estimate the incidence and prevalence of injury and illness among elite junior tennis players. A cohort of 73 players (11-14 years) in the 2012-2013 Dutch national high-performance program was followed for 32 weeks; all participants completed the study. The OSTRC Questionnaire on Health Problems was used to record self-reported injuries and illnesses and to record training and match exposure.

We conducted a study among a group of 26 regional pig farmers to determine the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus prevalence rate and found it was >760 times greater than the rate of patients admitted to Dutch hospitals. While spa-type t108 is apparently a more widespread clone among pig farmers and their environment, we did find other spa-types.

The MICs of 24 antimicrobial agents were determined for 335 strains of Yersinia enterocolitica isolated from faeces in the Netherlands during 1982-1991. The isolates belonged to biotypes 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 4 and to serotypes O3, O5.27, O6.
