Systematically assessing the quality of dental electronic health record data for an investigation into oral health care disparities.

Objectives: This work describes the process by which the quality of electronic health care data for a public health study was determined. The objectives were to adapt, develop, and implement data quality assessments (DQAs) based on the National Institutes of Health Pragmatic Trials Collaboratory (NIHPTC) data quality framework within the three domains of completeness, accuracy, and consistency, for an investigation into oral health care disparities of a preventive care program.

Methods: Electronic health record data for eligible children in a dental accountable care organization of 30 offices, in Oregon, were extracted iteratively from January 1, 2014, through March 31, 2022.

Supernumerary ovary on sigmoid colon resembling an endometriotic lesion.

A 30-year-old woman with a history of endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain had right-sided pain and sonographic evaluation demonstrated a right ovarian cyst 5 cm in diameter. Laparotomy revealed a right ovarian cystic mass and the cystic mass was found on the sigmoid colon. After excision, histopathologic study revealed endometrioma for the ovarian cyst and a supernumerary ovary for the cystic mass on the sigmoid colon.

Alveolar soft part sarcoma of the tongue.

In this report a 13-year-old girl with characteristic clinical and pathological features of alveolar soft part sarcoma of the tongue is presented. Alveolar soft part sarcoma is a rare malignant tumor of unknown origin. Forty eight cases of alveolar soft part sarcoma have so far been reported in the head and neck region.

A symmetric double monstrosity.

A newborn was admitted to the hospital with a set of accessory lower limbs attached to the distal sternum in addition to omphalocele, intestinal malrotation and interventricular defect. The parasitic twin was removed successfully and the omphalocele was left for conservative treatment.
