The study has been carried out to find out the value of disorders of heme synthesis and heme disintegration processes taking place in liver in patients with iron-deficiency anemia as well as in connection with the activity of detoxication enzymes.

An activity of porfobilinogen (PB)-synthase was increasing in all the terms of the trial, that of ferrochelatase--on the day 10, and it was inhibited later on. Such changes in an activity of heme synthesis key enzymes result in an accumulation of intermittent products.

They are the following: syndrome of endogenous intoxication, laboratorial data indicating high sensibility to delta antigen, increase in immune cellular value (SD4+, SD8+) and intensity of endogenous intoxication syndrome.

We have found also the most characterizing changes of lymphocytes subpopulation and natural killer-cells depending on etiology of CVH. As for CVHD it is characterized by more significant decrease in CD4-lymphocytes, as for CVHB--CD8-lymphocytes.
