Although virtual reality (VR) holds great potential in sensory research, further investigations are needed to assess the impact of immersion on consumer evaluations. Previous studies have limitations, such as a small number of evaluators, inconsistent graphical quality of virtual environments, lack of comparisons with traditional laboratory settings, and insufficient data on consumer engagement during virtual assessments. To address these gaps, this study evaluated consumer engagement using a presence scale, along with acceptance and emotions evoked during the consumption of an industrial beer (American Lager).

The patella has been used in various studies to verify its value in the estimation of biological sex. However, there is limited understanding regarding the alterations the bone undergoes when exposed to the effects of fire and how it affects sexual dimorphism. The current study aims to study the efficacy of three patella measurements, and generate an equation and cut-off points, to estimate the sex of individuals that had their patellae subjected to burning.

Background: Hemodialysis patients, particularly the elderly, present challenges for vascular access (VA) creation due to age-related vascular changes and comorbidities. This study aimed to characterize outcomes related to VA in elderly patients (≥75 years) and compare them with younger patients, focusing on primary failure, maturation failure, and patency rates.

Methods: This retrospective study included patients evaluated in VA consultations between January 2019 and December 2021; patients were evaluated through physical examination and Color Doppler Ultrasound to determine the suitability of vessels for VA construction.

SBA-15 is used in various processes, including adsorption, due to its textural properties, mesoporous channels, and silanol groups on the surface. These characteristics make it a promising material for the adsorption of emerging contaminants. This work evaluated the potential use of SBA-15 for the adsorption of bisphenol A (BPA), ciprofloxacin (CIP), and losartan (LS).
