Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) poses a significant global health threat, necessitating early detection. Traditional diagnostic tools like optical colonoscopy have limitations prompting our '5G-SUCCEEDS' initiative to explore a novel approach involving remote colon capsule endoscopy (CCE).

Working in partnership to reduce re-offending and improve prison leavers' lives: a process evaluation of a prison leaver pilot project.

Prison leavers encounter significant barriers to successfully re-integrating into the community, which can lead to re-offending. Complex interventions which are multi-faceted and involve successful partnerships are needed to meet the distinct health and social needs of this population group. For this study, we conducted a process evaluation of a pilot project, which aimed to offer holistic support to prison leavers through a combination of peer mentoring, sport and physical activity, and signposting, delivered in a community setting.

Activity-Based DNA-Encoded Library Screening for Selective Inhibitors of Eukaryotic Translation.

Small molecule probes exist for only ∼2% of human proteins because most lack functional binding pockets or cannot be assayed for high-throughput screening. Selective translation modulation circumvents canonical druggability and assay development constraints by using in vitro transcription-translation (IVTT) as a universal biochemical screening assay. We developed an IVTT activity assay by fusing a GFP reporter to various target gene sequences and screened the target sequences for inhibitors in microfluidic picoliter-scale droplets using a 5,348-member translation inhibitor DNA-encoded library (DEL).

Improving the economic performance of range forage in drylands internationally faces challenges from economic, ecological, and climate stress. Stakeholders in these drylands wish to protect range forage ecosystems while assuring economic viability of ranching. Despite several recent research achievements, little work to date has integrated relationships among precipitation, grazing pressure, animal performance, and forage production to protect ranching incomes faced with economic, ecological, and climate stress in dryland areas.

Water policymakers internationally face the challenge of adapting to climate, supporting environmental resource needs, and meeting irrigation demands for food security in the world's arid and semi-arid regions. Much recent work has assessed the economic performance of environmental river flows to support endangered species habitat protection. However, little published work to date has systematically formulated and applied methods to identify the economic performance of various policy measures that adapt to climate, support endangered species, and meet irrigation demands for water.
