The COVID-19 pandemic has both highlighted and worsened existing health inequities among communities of color and structurally vulnerable populations. Community Health Workers, inclusive of Community Health Representatives (CHW/Rs) have entered the spotlight as essential to COVID-19 prevention and control. To learn about community experiences and perspectives related to COVID-19 and inform CHW/R workforce capacity building efforts, a series of focus groups were conducted with CHW/Rs throughout Arizona at two time points in 2021.

Our aim was to investigate the prognostic performance of different PET biomarkers in a multicenter setting.
Methods: We investigated baseline volumetric values [metabolic tumor volume (MTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG), also normalized for body weight] segmented with three different methods [>SUV4 (glob4); 41% isocontour (41pc), and a gradient-based lesion growing algorithm (grad)] and interim parameters [Deauville score, maximal standardized uptake value (ΔSUVmax), modified qPET, and ratio PET (rPET)] alongside clinical parameters (stage, revised International Prognostic Index), using 24-month progression-free survival as the clinical endpoint.
Microsporidia are opportunistic intracellular parasites, generating serious pathology in individuals with a compromised immune system. Infection by microsporidia inhibits p53 and Caspase 3, proteins involved in apoptosis and the cell cycle, which are vital in the malignant process of epithelial cells. The presence of microsporidia in the intestinal tissues of 87 colon cancer (CC) patients and 25 healthy controls was analyzed by real-time PCR and an immunofluorescence antibody test.

In this study, St-MMA particles with PEGMA and/or GMA brushes were synthesized. First, the recipe for St-MMA was optimized and then adapted for PEGMA and GMA incorporation.

Different types of support operate in different ways, however, and the relationship between the nature of CHW support and the subsequent health benefit for their clients is not well understood.
Methods: This paper describes an integrated mixed methods study of the emotional, informational, appraisal and tangible support CHWs provided to Latinx community members residing in three US-Mexico border communities.
