This study evaluates the concentration of metals and trace elements (Al, Cd, Cu, Fe, Li, Pb, Zn) in the muscle tissue of Sardina pilchardus from three northeast Atlantic localities (Lisbon, Canary Islands, Rabat) and two western Mediterranean sites (Málaga, Cartagena) to assess food safety and environmental impact. A total of 100 sardines were sampled between January and June 2019, with specimens collected, homogenized by size and weight, and analyzed for metal content using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). Results show significant geographical variation in metal concentrations, with Cartagena exhibiting the highest levels due to industrial and urban activities, while the Canary Islands had the lowest, likely influenced by geographical isolation and stringent environmental regulations.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of [Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT (PET-PSMA) in local and loco-regional nodal staging compared with histopathological results in intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer patients treated with radical prostatectomy (RP) and pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND).

Materials Y Methods: A total of 122 intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer (PCa) patients staged with PET-PSMA and treated with RP (36/122) and RP plus PLND (86/122) from December 2018 to December 2023 were included. Visual and semiquantitative analysis findings using the SUVmax of the molecular imaging were correlated with histopathological results.

Background: Currently, multiple tools exist to teach and learn anatomy, but finding an adequate activity is challenging. However, it can be achieved through haptic experiences, where motivation is the means of a significant learning process. This study aimed to evaluate a haptic experience to determine if a tactile and painting with color marker interactive experience, established a better learning process in comparison to the traditional 2D workshop on printed paper with photographs.

Avocado ( Mill.) is a subtropical climacteric fruit with a limited shelf life due to its high sensitivity to low temperatures. Chilling injury (CI) produced by cold storage displays symptoms in avocado fruit such as irregular ripening, darkening of the mesocarp, hardening of vascular strands, lipid oxidation with "off flavors", and pitting and darkening of the skin, increasing weight loss.

Tomato fruit ( L.) has a very brief storability, displaying chilling injury (CI) when stored in cold conditions used to delay ripening. For this reason, in this study, different concentrations (10, 50, and 100 mg L) of chlorogenic acid (ChA) were assayed to evaluate its effectiveness in maintaining fruit quality traits and mitigating CI symptoms in tomatoes.
