High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is the most aggressive subtype of epithelial ovarian cancer and a leading cause of mortality among gynecologic malignancies. This review aims to comprehensively analyze the morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular features of HGSOC, highlighting its pathogenesis and identifying biomarkers with diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic significance. Special emphasis is placed on the role of tumor microenvironment (TME) and genomic instability in shaping the tumor's behavior and therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Background And Aims: Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)and persistent high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV)infection are associated with impaired local cellular immunity; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying these processes are not well understood. The involvement of the programmed death 1/programmed death 1 ligand (PD-1/PD-L1) pathway in the downregulation of T cell function has been demonstrated recently and it is believed to have a role in the onset and persistence of HPV infection and cervical cancer. Our aim is to analyze the role of PD-L1 in the CIN to identify a possible biomarker of HSIL (CIN2+) progression and persistence.

In serous borderline ovarian tumor (SBOT), a micropapillary (MP) pattern has been considered analogous to intraepithelial low-grade serous carcinoma (LGSC). On this account, it is reasonable to hypothesize that MP-SBOT is more likely to be associated with extraovarian LGSC localizations (also referred to as 'invasive implants') compared to conventional SBOT. Purpose: There is debate about the optimal management of borderline resectable (bRe) and resectable (Re) pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both preclinical and clinical evidence showed that carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) produces superior control on radioresistant histologies compared to conventional photon beam radiotherapy (RT). However, so far there is a lack of data concerning the integration of CIRT in a multimodal approach with chemotherapy and surgery for bRe/Re.
