Objectives: We aimed to assess the stone free rate of flexible ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy (FURL) in upper urinary tract stones (UUTS) >20 mm and the risk of complications from ureteral access sheath (UAS) usage.

Methods: This is a prospective randomized clinical trial that included patients with UUTS larger than 20 mm who underwent FURL after randomization into two groups: group A (UAS) and group B (non-UAS). Data were collected for patients' demographics, stone parameters, operative and postoperative complications, and the outcome of FURL regarding stone-free rate (SFR) and perioperative complications, with a 6-month follow-up.

Aims: This study aims to investigate prescribing and therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) practices for vancomycin in paediatrics at the Jordan University Hospital and to determine the impact of inaccuracies in TDM data on dosing decisions.

Methods: Patterns of vancomycin prescriptions, appropriateness of vancomycin dosing, duration, TDM, and the accuracy of the recorded dosing/sampling times were determined prospectively based on prespecified criteria. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations were undertaken using the mrgsolve-package in R to assess the effect of inaccuracies in recording dosing/sampling times on subsequent dose adjustments.

The presence of two functional groups (OH and double bond) in C methyl-substituted enols (, isopentenols), such as 3-methyl-2-buten-1-ol (prenol) and 3-methyl-3-buten-1-ol (isoprenol), makes them excellent biofuel candidates as fuel additives. As OH radicals are abundant in both combustion and atmospheric environments, OH-initiated oxidation of these isopentenols over wide ranges of temperatures and pressures needs to be investigated. In alkenes, OH addition to the double bond is prominent at low temperatures (, below ∼700 K), and H-atom abstraction dominates at higher temperatures.

Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is a disease of poverty, is almost entirely preventable, and is the most common cardiovascular disease worldwide in those under 25 years especially in the developing county like Bangladesh. RHD is caused by acute rheumatic fever (ARF) which typically results in cumulative valvular lesions that may present clinically after a number of years of sub-clinical disease. It has a progressive course and patients usually may require valve repair/replacement in future.
