Assessing Environmental and Economic Sustainability: Valorizing Grape Stems for Animal Feed Production.

This study evaluated an innovative strategy for valorizing grape stems (GS) from the winery industry as an animal feed ingredient from both environmental life-cycle and economic perspectives. Two processes for GS-based feed ingredient production were compared: one using hydrolyzed GS and the other using nonhydrolyzed GS, alongside the conventional animal feed production process. Using primary pilot-scale data for GS-based feed ingredient production and secondary data for animal feed production, life-cycle assessments, and economic analyses were conducted.

Hilar cavernous transformation is the formation of venous structures rich in collateral around the portal vein. Portal vein thrombosis is a rare entity. Although there are many reasons for its etiology, few cases have been reported secondary to hydatid cysts in the liver.

Evaluation of Clinical and Immunological Alterations Associated with ICF Syndrome.

Purpose: Immunodeficiency with centromeric instability and facial anomalies (ICF) syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive combined immunodeficiency. The detailed immune responses are not explored widely. We investigated known and novel immune alterations in lymphocyte subpopulations and their association with clinical symptoms in a well-defined ICF cohort.

Evaluation of alterations in length and calcification of the styloid process in patients with end-stage renal failure.

Objective: This study compared alterations in length and types of elongation and calcification of the styloid process (SP) between patients with end-stage renal failure (ESRF) who received renal transplantation, patients with ESRF undergoing dialysis, and a healthy control group.

Study Design: The SPs of 58 patients who had undergone renal transplants, 58 patients who received dialysis treatment, and 58 healthy individuals were examined with panoramic radiographs. Length measurements were made from the apex to the base of the SP.

The prognostic role of epidermal growth factor receptor mutation in completely resected ampullary adenocarcinoma.

The aim of this study is to make a differential diagnosis and prognosis of the ampullary adenocarcinoma subtypes. We also investigated the role of prognostic markers PD-1 and PD-L1, and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Local or locally advanced stage ampullary adenocarcinoma patients who had undergone pancreaticoduodenectomy at the time of diagnosis were included.
