Assessment of Facial Asymmetry in Slovak Patients with Positional Deformity.

Positional deformity (PD), also known as deformational plagiocephaly or non-synostosis, is a primary cause of abnormal head shape and asymmetry in infants. The most common type, occipital plagiocephaly, leads to flattening of one side of the back of the head or the entire head (positional brachycephaly). PD results from external forces on the growing skull, often due to childbirth and improper positioning during sleep.

Arnold-Chiari Malformations in Pediatric Patients After Fetal Surgery for Meningomyelocele.

(1) : Fetal surgery for meningomyelocele (MMC) should reduce the occurrence of Arnold-Chiari malformations, hydrocephalus, the associated need for craniocervical decompression, and the need for cerebrospinal fluid shunt insertion. Fetal surgery should improve ambulatory status. (2) : We used retrospective analysis of the documentation and descriptive statistics to summarize the clinical data and measured MRI parameters.

Development of pharmacy-based best practices to support safer use and management of prescription opioids based on an e-Delphi methodology.

Background: Opioid utilization and related harm have increased in recent decades, notably in Australia, the United States, Canada, and some European countries. For people who are prescribed opioids, pharmacies offer an accessible, regular point-of-contact, providing a unique opportunity to address opioid prescription drugs risks.

Objective: This project aimed to develop consensus-based, best practice statements for improving the safer use of prescription opioids through community pharmacy settings.
