Objective: Sublingual varicose veins are variations of normality that appear more prominent during aging. The systematic review aim to investigate sublingual varicose veins frequency in patients exposed to systemic and environmental exposed factors linked to cardiovascular diseases.

Methods: This systematic review was based on the PECO strategy, and the PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase and Grey Literature library were searched for publications examining the association between sublingual varicose veins and systemic and environmental exposed factors linked to cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, smoking, and leg varices.

This study aims to examine the effects of YM155 treatment, a survivin selective suppressant, in maintaining neutrophil survival in vitro and in vivo experimental settings of neutrophilic inflammation.

New northernmost distribution records of the Eastern South Pacific southern right whale (Eubalaena australis), including the first cases from Ecuador and northern Peru.

The Eastern South Pacific Right Whale (SRW) (Eubalaena australis) population has gained interest due to its Critically Endangered conservation status. So far, this population has been confirmed only along the coasts of Chile (18°20'S to 56°30'S) and from southern to central Peru (17°38'S to 12°11'S). Recent records have extended the species' known range, highlighting its geographic distribution, now reaching 1500 km north.

Brazilian Society of Otology task force - cochlear implant ‒ recommendations based on strength of evidence.

Objective: To make evidence-based recommendations for the indications and complications of Cochlear Implant (CI) surgery in adults and children.

Methods: Task force members were educated on knowledge synthesis methods, including electronic database search, review and selection of relevant citations, and critical appraisal of selected studies. Articles written in English or Portuguese on cochlear implantation were eligible for inclusion.
