Background: Graft/stent thrombosis is the leading cause of amputation in patients over 60, and while dual antiplatelet therapy is the standard of care, there is a significant variability in platelet response and limited guidance on measuring effectiveness. Thromboelastography with platelet mapping (TEG-PM) can objectively detail an individual's coagulation profile, namely the strength of the clot and its response to antiplatelet medication. Although TEG-PM has been used for predicting postoperative bleeding and assessing platelet dysfunction in traumatic brain injury, its application in thrombosis diseases such as peripheral artery disease remains unexplored.

Water governance demands multi-sector participation beyond the state; and, appropriate laws, policies, regulations, and institutions need to be developed and put in place for sustainable use of water resources. A good water policy, a critical and integral instrument of water governance, guides water use schemes and ensures equitable water distribution among users. The Ethiopian Central Rift Valley (CRV) is rich in water resources, but these water resources are currently under severe strain owing to an imbalance in human-water interactions.

Introduction: Toxic gain-of-function () variants contribute to the development of proteinuric nephropathies collectively referred to as APOL1-mediated kidney disease (AMKD). Despite standard-of-care treatments, patients with AMKD experience accelerated progression to end-stage kidney disease. The identification of two variants as the genetic cause of AMKD inspired development of inaxaplin, an inhibitor of APOL1 channel activity that reduces proteinuria in patients with AMKD.
