As median age of patients with acute myeloid leukemia is 72 years, older patients continue to be a vulnerable cohort representing significant challenges in clinical practice. Patient-specific comorbidities as well as leukemia-specific unfavorable molecular- and cytogenetics confer even poorer outcomes. Treatment of AML therefore needs to be less toxic to prevent harm while lowering or eradicating leukemic burden to prolong survival.

Background: Ragweed is an invasive, highly allergenic weed predicted to expand its habitat with warming global temperatures. Several species have been identified in South Africa for well over a century; however, its presence remained undetected by allergists and aerobiologists until the development of an extensive aerospora monitoring system across South African urban areas since 2019. This paper presents the inventory of preliminary investigation of the airborne pollen and the taxonomic identification of ragweed species.

As energy systems transform to rely on renewable energy and electrification to mitigate climate change, they encounter stronger year-to-year variability in energy supply and demand. Yet, most infrastructure planning relies on a single weather year, risking a potential lack of robustness. In this paper, we optimize capacity layouts for a European energy system under net-zero CO emissions for 62 different weather years.

Despite its central role in inducing protective immunity, there is however a surprising lack of comparative studies examining different HBsAgs and their ability to detect anti-HBs antibodies. On the contrary, various time-consuming complex HBsAg production protocols have been established, which result in structurally and functionally insufficiently characterized HBsAg.
