A radiocarbon spike at 14 300 cal yr BP in subfossil trees provides the impulse response function of the global carbon cycle during the Late Glacial.

We present new C results measured on subfossil Scots Pines recovered in the eroded banks of the Drouzet watercourse in the Southern French Alps. About 400 new C ages have been analysed on 15 trees sampled at annual resolution. The resulting ΔC record exhibits an abrupt spike occurring in a single year at 14 300-14 299 cal yr BP and a century-long event between 14 and 13.

[Oesophageal bullous detachment with massive haemorrhage revealing acquired haemophilia A in autoimmune bullous dermatosis].

Introduction: Acquired haemophilia A (AHA) is a rare coagulopathy caused by the development of factor VIII antibodies. Various aetiologies have been established but a number of cases have been reported in association with autoimmune bullous dermatosis (AIBD). We report a new case of this type of association revealed by oesophageal involvement of AIBD.

Climate-growth relationships in a Larix decidua Mill. network in the French Alps.

A better understanding of the respective role of key climatic variables on tree growth is crucial for an accurate assessment of how ongoing global changes may affect both dynamics and distribution of forest tree species in the future. The aim of this study was (i) to explore growth patterns of European larch (Larix decidua Mill.) through a network of tree-ring chronologies developed for the French Alps and (ii) to identify the main climatic drivers explaining radial growth.

Tele-expertise for diagnosis of skin lesions is cost-effective in a prison setting: A retrospective cohort study of 450 patients.

Context: The prevalence of skin diseases among prisoners is higher than in the general population. Diagnosing and treating these lesions require a dermatologic advice. A tele-expertise network in dermatology for prisoners including 8 health facilities in prison and 2 hospital dermatological departments was developed to improve access to dermatologists' expertise in correctional facilities.
