[Low-dose helical CT-dacryocystography in nasolacrimal duct obstruction-a prospective study].

Background: In addition to basic ophthalmologic diagnostic workup, different radiologic procedures can be performed for assessment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction. However, no gold standard imaging technique has yet been established. Using the results of the present study, the advantages of helical CT-dacryocystography (CT-DCG) are demonstrated, particularly when performed before endonasal endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy.

Correlation between optical coherence tomography and autofluorescence in acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy.

Purpose: To report a case of bilateral acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy (APMPPE) evaluated by optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus autofluorescence (AF) and microperimetry, both in the acute phase and after resolution of symptoms.

Methods: Complete ophthalmological evaluation, including fluorescein angiography, OCT, AF, and microperimetry upon presentation and 1 month later, after lesions have subsided. An attempt to correlate the findings on presentation and changes after resolution is performed using the results of these new investigational techniques.

Macular function and morphology after peeling of idiopathic epiretinal membrane with and without the assistance of indocyanine green.

Aim: To investigate macular function and morphology after surgical removal of idiopathic epiretinal membrane (IEM) with and without assistance of indocyanine green (ICG).

Methods: A retrospective study as a consecutive case series, of 39 patients with IEM. 39 patients, 23 female, 16 male, mean age 67 years, underwent standard three port pars plana vitrectomy with removal of epiretinal membrane.

[Contractility of human retinal arterioles during oxygen breathing vs. myogenic response].

Background: By the use of the retinal vessel analyzer (RVA) it is possible to measure the myogenic response of retinal arterioles to blood pressure increases. Pure oxygen breathing is another method to test the contractility of vessels. The presented study compares these two methods in the same healthy volunteers.

Laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy enhancement of residual myopia after primary myopic LASEK: six-month results in 10 eyes.

Purpose: To determine whether residual myopia after primary laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy (LASEK) can be corrected by repeated LASEK and whether this procedure is safe and effective.

Setting: University Eye Clinic, University of Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany.

Methods: Laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy was performed in 10 eyes that had had primary LASEK for myopia.
