Large predators are overabundant in mid-Cretaceous continental dinosaur assemblages of North Africa. Such unbalanced ecosystem structure involves, among predatory dinosaurs, typical abelisaurid or carcharodontosaurid theropods co-occurring with long-snouted spinosaurids of debated ecology. Here, we report calcium (Ca) isotope values from tooth enamel (expressed as Ca) to investigate resource partitioning in mid-Cretaceous assemblages from Niger (Gadoufaoua) and Morocco (Kem Kem Beds).

This study reports the successful use of osseointegrated implants to replace posterior teeth combined with the autogenous bone graft technique in the sinus. Preliminary data (1 to 6 years experience) of this one-stage procedure are presented. A total of 33 patients were treated--44 sinus grafts were augmented with bone from the anterior iliac crest.

Electroplating effluents were tested for their genotoxicity with the micronucleus test on newt larvae. The metallic content of the tested samples was responsible for the induction of micronuclei in red blood cells (RBC). Then, iron (Fe3+), chromium (Cr3+, Cr6+) and zinc (Zn2+) which were identified in these samples, were tested either separately or combined, at their concentrations in the electroplating effluents.

Dramatic improvements in aesthetics in osseointegrated implants can be accomplished with the new prosthetic solutions. These consist of the subgingival displacement of the "aesthetic limit" between the abutment (UCLA attachment), or by the utilization of the new components from the Brånemark System. A peri-implant soft tissue flap is suggested to create sufficient gingival thickness and, the same time, to allow for aesthetic and plaque removal considerations.
