Methods: This case-control study enrolled patients with early-stage PD and age-matched controls. BMDs for the left femoral neck (L-FN) and lumbar spine (LS) were measured.
The binding of nucleotides is crucial for signal transduction as it induces conformational protein changes, leading to downstream cellular responses. Synthetic receptors that bind nucleotides and transduce the binding event into global conformational rearrangements are highly challenging to design, especially those that operate in an aqueous solution. Much work is focused on evaluating functionalized dyes to detect nucleotides, whereas coupling of a nucleotide-induced conformational switching to a sensing event has not been reported to date.

Classical formulations of this quadratic optimization problem have exact or heuristic solutions, but the complexity scales up as the market dimension increases. Recently, researchers are evaluating the possibility of facing the complexity scaling issue by employing quantum computing.

Approved direct antiviral agent (DAA) combinations are associated with high rates of sustained virological response (SVR) and the absence of a detectable hepatitis C viral load 12-24 weeks after treatment discontinuation. However, a low percentage of individuals fail DAA therapy. Here, we report the case of a HIV/HBV/HCV co-infected patient who failed to respond to DAA pangenotypic combination therapy.
