Work from Rice and Whitehead showed the results of electrokinetic flow in a capillary tube under the assumption of low zeta potential 25 mV, limiting the approximation's usability. Further research conducted by Philip and Wooding provided an alternative solution that assumes high zeta potentials 25 mV and relies on Rice and Whitehead's solution for lower ranges. However, this solution is presented as a piecewise function, where the functions change based on the zeta potential and the parameter, introducing infinite values for the zeta potential and discontinuities in the derived functions.

Background: Breast thermography originated in the 1950s but was later abandoned due to the contradictory results obtained in the following decades. However, advances in infrared technology and image processing algorithms in the twenty-first century led to a renewed interest in thermography. This work aims to provide an updated and objective picture of the recent scientific evidence on its effectiveness, both as a screening and as a diagnostic tool.

Chromatography combined with mass spectrometry is a gold standard technique for steroid measurement, however the type of sample preparation, the dynamic range and reliability of the calibration curve, the chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry settings ultimately determine the success of the method. The steroid biosynthetic pathway is conserved in higher mammals and literature demonstrates that the concentration ranges of different steroid groups are relatively comparable across species. We sought to develop a robust and reliable multi steroid targeted analysis method for blood that would have wide application across higher mammals.

The type specimens of Austrodolops eremitae Blanchard, Doryctes ridiaschinae Brthes, and Hormiopius ptericoptophagus Blanchard were studied and reclassified according to the current classification of the subfamily Doryctinae. The monotypic genera Austrodolops Blanchard and Hormiopius Blanchard are treated as junior synonyms of Allorhogas Gahan (syn. nov.
