Background: This study aimed to compare the humoral responses to mRNA COVID-19 vaccination in people living with HIV (PWH) and HIV-negative individuals.

Methods: We included PWH with an undetectable viral load under ART and HIV-negative participants from the French nationwide ANRS COV-POPART cohort who had received two doses of vaccine as a primary vaccination. We compared humoral response between controls and PWH, stratified by CD4 cell count (<200/mm and ≥200/mm CD4 cell counts) at 1, 6, and 12 months after primary vaccination.

Article Synopsis
  • Obesity is linked to various health complications and increased healthcare costs, with a study focusing on the impact of traumatic life events, especially sexual violence, on patients seeking bariatric surgery.
  • In a study of 408 patients, 87.1% reported at least one traumatic life event, with 33.1% specifically citing a history of sexual violence, with female patients and those with higher body mass indexes at greater risk.
  • The findings suggest that understanding gender-specific trauma is crucial in managing obesity and improving the quality of care for affected individuals.

Background: To evaluate the effect of a 1 mg/dl reduction in uric acid (UA) on cardiovascular events and mortality in patients treated with sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors.

Research Design And Methods: We performed a systematic review of the MEDLINE and EMBASE databases searched up to 30 June 2023 (PROSPERO, CRD42022355479) to identify large-scale SGLT2 inhibitor trials. Random-effects meta-analyses were used to pool the estimates.
