OBJECTIVETo assess the predictive value of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and systemic immune inflammation index in severe post-operative pulmonary infection in haemorrhagic stroke patients based on sex.METHODSThis retrospective study included 193 male and 129 female patients with haemorrhagic stroke and post-operative pulmonary infection. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to determine the association between inflammatory markers from peripheral blood counts and severe pulmonary infection in these patients.

The photovoltaic conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic solar cells (OSCs) has exceeded 20%, which has met the requirements for commercialisation. In the current stage, the main focus is to balance the performance and stability. It has been shown that all-polymer formulation can improve device stability, however, PCE is not in satifsfaction, and the batch-to-batch variation leads to quality control issues.

The death signaling complex comprising extrasynaptic NMDAR and TRPM4 plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of ischemic stroke. Targeting the protein-protein interactions between NMDAR and TRPM4 represents a promising therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke. Herein, we describe the discovery of a novel series of NMDAR/TRPM4 interaction interface inhibitors aimed at enhancing neuroprotective efficacy and optimizing pharmacokinetic profiles.

Coalbed methane (CBM) reservoir modification based on chemical solvent treatment could change the coal microstructure, which further affects the adsorption capacity and flow characteristics of this clean energy. Coal samples were extracted by tetrahydrofuran (THF), carbon disulfide (CS), and hydrochloric acid (HCl). Low-pressure nitrogen adsorption, carbon dioxide adsorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and methane isothermal adsorption test were adopted.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with cognitive decline. Use of oral anticoagulant (OAC) medications offers a lower risk of dementia, but it is unclear whether differences exist between types of OAC agents.

Objective: This was a secondary analysis to explore whether the progression from normal cognition to mild cognitive impairment to dementia differs between adults with AF on warfarin versus non-vitamin K inhibitors medications (NOACs) using data extracted from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center clinical case series.
