Article Synopsis
  • PACAP is important for regulating inflammation and lipid management in macrophages, influencing the development of atherosclerosis.
  • Researchers utilized PACAP deficient mice crossbred with ApoE mice to study the effects on atherosclerosis under different diets.
  • The results showed PACAP/ApoE mice had more severe arterial narrowing and altered macrophage responses, revealing PACAP's role in inflammatory processes and lipid accumulation.

E-cadherin, a transmembrane protein involved in epithelial cell-cell adhesion and signaling, is found in exosomal fractions isolated from human body fluids. A cellular mechanism for recruitment of E-cadherin into extracellular vesicles (EVs) has not yet been defined. Here, we show that E-cadherin is incorporated into the membrane of EVs with the extracellular domain exposed at the vesicle surface.

Nonlinear material response is analysed with the Fourier transform (FT) of the raw signal measured by a high-frequency dynamic mechanical analyzer (HF DMA). It is known from rheological behaviour of elastomers that reinforcing fillers additionally induce nonlinearity in an already inherently nonlinear system. This behaviour is often described in terms of a mechanical response of strain sweeps, essentially the transition from the linear viscoelastic (LVE) to the nonlinear viscoelastic (NVE) region.

We present an effective and simple multiscale method for equilibrating Kremer Grest model polymer melts of varying stiffness. In our approach, we progressively equilibrate the melt structure above the tube scale, inside the tube and finally at the monomeric scale. We make use of models designed to be computationally effective at each scale.
