Background: Despite tremendous therapeutic advancements, a significant proportion of coronary artery disease patients suffer from refractory angina pectoris, that is, quality-of-life-compromising angina that is non-manageable with established pharmacological and interventional treatment options. Adenoviral vascular endothelial growth factor-D (AdVEGF-D)-encoding gene therapy (GT) holds promise for the treatment of refractory angina.

Methods: ReGenHeart is an investigator-initiated, multicentre, randomised, placebo-controlled and double-blinded phase 2 clinical trial that aims to study the safety and efficacy of intramyocardially administered angiogenic AdVEGF-D GT for refractory angina.

Background: Patients with aortic stenosis may continue to have an increased risk of heart failure, arrhythmias, and death after successful transcatheter aortic valve implantation. Renin-angiotensin system inhibitors may be beneficial in this setting. We aimed to explore whether ramipril improves the outcomes of patients with aortic stenosis after transcatheter aortic valve implantation.

Although there is an approved indication for venetoclax and hypomethylating agents (VenHMA) and its use in different AML settings will be expanded in the following years, the management of the adverse events (AEs) lacks of harmonized algorithms during treatment of these patients. We have studied the incidence of relevant AEs of 43 patients who achieved a response to VenHMA and its management. Median overall survival of our cohort was 19 months.

This study evaluates the feasibility of using post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCY) prophylaxis in allo-hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) for adults aged 65 and older. PTCY is increasingly used to prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) across all donor types, but concerns remain about potential risks, especially in older patients. Fifty-seven adults aged 65 or older with hematological malignancies, undergoing their first allo-HCT with PTCY prophylaxis between January 2011 and January 2023 were included.

Patients with advanced-stage Hodgkin lymphoma treated with ABVD who have a positive interim FDG-PET (iPET) have a poor prognosis. Escalation to BEACOPP has been shown to improve progression-free survival (PFS). However, randomized trials are lacking to determine the best strategy for intensification.
