Prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among garment workers: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Garment workers are at high risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) due to repetitive physical tasks, long working hours and varying workstations. As there is no existing epidemiological overview of MSDs among garment workers, this systematic review aimed to evaluate the global evidence on prevalence of MSDs in this population.

Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.

Background: Hospital-acquired pressure ulcers (HAPUs) constitute an important source of concern for healthcare systems due to their negative consequences on patient quality of life and hospital costs. This phenomenon is increasing worldwide, driven by an aging population and increasing prevalence of chronic conditions. This economic evaluation aimed to determine whether using a multilayer, silicone-adhesive polyurethane foam dressing shaped for the sacrum area, alongside standard prevention (SP), is cost-effective in preventing HAPUs for hospitalized patients compared to SP alone.

Perception of community reintegration among individuals with spinal cord injury in northwest Nigeria: a qualitative description.

Purpose: To explore the meaning of community reintegration and strategies for promoting community reintegration based on the lived experiences of individuals with spinal cord injury in northwest Nigeria.

Material And Methods: Using a qualitative description, we purposively recruited people with spinal cord injury residing in Kano, Nigeria. Eight focus groups were conducted to gather relevant information about the meaning and strategies for community reintegration, based on the lived experiences of the participants.

Adoption of a Societal Perspective in Economic Evaluations of Musculoskeletal Disorders: A Conceptual Paper.

Economic evaluations are used to compare the costs and consequences of healthcare interventions, including those for musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders, which are very common and a major source of morbidity and absence from work. Reimbursement decisions for interventions for MSK disorders by decision-makers rely on the findings of economic evaluations, the design and results of which depend largely on the perspective adopted. Despite methodological advancements in economic evaluations, there are no clear guidelines on the perspective to adopt.
