Borazine and its derivatives can be considered critical doping units for engineering hybrid C(sp2)-based molecules with tailored optoelectronic properties. Herein, we report the first synthesis of hexaarylborazines that, bearing ortho-substituted aryl moieties, extend three-dimensionally. Using a one-pot protocol, we first form an electrophilic chloroborazole and then react it with an aryl lithium (ArLi).

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on improving prostate diffusion MRI (dMRI) by using strong gradients and single-shot spiral readouts to enhance image quality amidst low signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) and distortions.
  • They utilized an advanced encoding model for image reconstruction, testing it on both phantoms and human subjects, including healthy volunteers and prostate cancer patients.
  • Results showed that this method yielded high-quality prostate images with a significant SNR increase (up to 45%) compared to conventional techniques, highlighting the advantages of spirals over traditional EPI imaging.

Diffusion-weighted MRI (dMRI) is universally recommended for the detection and classification of prostate cancer (PCa), with PI-RADS recommendations to acquire b-values of ≥1.4 ms/μm. However, clinical dMRI suffers from a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) as the consequence of prolonged echo times (TEs) attributable to the limited gradient power in the range of 40-80 mT/m.

Introduction: The periodic monitoring of Legionella in hospital water networks allows preventive measures to be taken to avoid the risk of legionellosis to patients and healthcare workers.

Study Design: The aim of the study is to standardize a method for predicting the risk of Legionella contamination in the water supply of a hospital facility, by comparing Machine Learning, conventional and combined models.

Methods: During the period July 2021- October 2022, water sampling for Legionella detection was performed in the rooms of an Italian hospital pavilion (89.
