Complications of Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty with Hyaluronic Acid Injections: A Narrative Review.

Background: The increasing popularity of cosmetic procedures has led to a rise in both surgical and nonsurgical interventions. Rhinoplasty, particularly nonsurgical rhinoplasty using injectable fillers such as hyaluronic acid (HA), has become highly sought after due to its minimally invasive nature. Despite its benefits, complications can occur, ranging from minor to severe.

A conceptual model for evaluating eco-efficiency of thermal spraying processes.

Thermal spraying (TS) is one of the main processes for obtaining surfaces with the desired protective properties in various industrial applications. TS is an energy-intensive treatment required to heat the application material and consumes different resources. To assess the environmental impact of TS, it becomes necessary to integrate an approach that jointly analyses and evaluates the economic and environmental variables influencing the system.

Primary Chest Wall Ewing Sarcoma: Treatment and Long-Term Results.

Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate early and long-term results of chest wall primary Ewing's sarcoma patients treated in the time period February 2000-February 2023 by a multidisciplinary approach.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who underwent chest wall resection for a primary tumor. Treatment approach, extent of resection, 30-day mortality, overall survival (OS), local recurrence-free survival (LRFS), and metastasis-free survival (MFS) were analyzed.

Primary hyperparathyroidism: diagnostic features and surgical outcomes.

Background: Primary hyperparathyroidism is characterized by elevated plasma calcium levels due to inappropriate secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) in most cases by an adenomatous or hyperplastic parathyroid. We present a retrospective analysis of a large cohort of patients operated on of parathyroidectomy in our center analyzing their diagnostic characteristics, intraoperative match and surgical outcomes.

Methods: We included patients with benign parathyroid disease who underwent parathyroidectomy associated or not with hemi- or total thyroidectomy at the Sant'Anna University Hospital of Ferrara between September 2003 and September 2022.

Pseudo-tunneling procedure for PICC-ports catheters insertion in patients with small veins at the middle third of the arm.

Background: Axillary vein in the brachial tract or Basilic vein in the proximal third of the arm usually present a diameter wide enough to receive a catheter of 5 Fr. Therefore, a peripherally inserted central catheters with port (PICC-Ports) cannot be positioned in these areas. Pseudo-tunneling procedure allows the positioning of the Port in the middle part of the arm without using tunnelers during insertion of PICC with Port in patients who present deep veins of the arm too small to receive a PICC-Port catheter.
