Perception of Internalized Stigma in Parents of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder: Investigating the Effects of Depression, Anxiety, and Family Functioning.

Introduction Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a pervasive neurodevelopmental disorder that impacts communication, behavior, and social interaction. It is well-documented that parents of children with ASD often experience psychiatric conditions like anxiety and depression. Nevertheless, research on the perception of internalized stigma, family functioning, and their interconnections is scarce.

Increased ambulatory arterial stiffness index and blood pressure load in normotensive obese patients.

Objectives: It has been shown that blood pressure (BP) values measured in obese subjects are higher than the individuals with normal weight, even in normotensive limits. However, data concerning the Ambulatory Arterial Stiffness Index (AASI) and blood pressure load in normotensive obese subjects is lacking. This study was aimed to compare the ambulatory arterial stiffness index and blood pressure load in normotensive obese and healthy controls.

Chalcones and their derivatives have been described as promising compounds with antiproliferative activity against leukemic cells. This study aimed to investigate the cytotoxic effect of three synthetic chalcones derived from 1-naphthylacetophenone (F07, F09, and F10) in acute leukemia cell lines (K562 and Jurkat) and examine the mechanisms of cell death induced by these compounds. The three compounds were cytotoxic to K562 and Jurkat cells, with IC values ranging from 1.

The association between monocyte HDL ratio and albuminuria in diabetic nephropathy.

Objectives: We aimed to investigate whether Monocyte-to-HDL ratio (MHR) had an association with albuminuria in patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN).

Methods: Diabetic patients, who had admitted to the outpatient clinic of general internal disease department between September 2017 - February 2018 and had their spot urinary albumin/creatinine ratio measured, were examined retrospectively. Patients were separated based on the presence of DN.

Evaluation of retinal microvascular changes in patients with prediabetes.

Aim: Diabetic retinopathy is a chronic progressive complication with neuronal cell and retinal microvascular involvement and is closely associated with blood sugar and blood pressure levels. Studies have shown that retinal neural dysfunction takes place before the microvascular changes in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of this study is to compare the retinal microvascular changes of patients who are at the prediabetes stage and healthy volunteers.
