Cesium-Based Molecular Perovskites With Superior Stability for High-Performance X-Ray Detection.

Metal-free molecular perovskites have shown great potential for X-ray detection due to their tunable chemical structures, low toxicity, and excellent photophysical properties. However, their limited X-ray absorption and environmental instability restrict their practical application. In this study, cesium-based molecular perovskites (MDABCO-CsX, X = Cl, Br, I) are developed by introducing Cs at the B-site to enhance X-ray absorption while retaining low toxicity.

Rare and common genetic variants underlying the risk of Hirschsprung's disease.

Hirschsprung's disease (HSCR) is a congenital enteric neuropathic disorder characterized by high heritability (>80%) and polygenic inheritance (>20 genes). The previous genome-wide association studies (GWAS) identified several common variants associated with HSCR and demonstrated increased predictive performance for HSCR risk in Europeans using a genetic risk score, there remains a notable gap in knowledge regarding Chinese populations. We conducted whole exome sequencing in a HSCR case cohort in Chinese.

Robust, Fluorine-Free Superhydrophobic Films on Glass via Epoxysilane Pretreatment.

Durable and fluorine-free superhydrophobic films were fabricated by a simple two-step process involving the pretreatment of glass substrates with an epoxysilane, which acted as an adhesive. The next step involved the aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition of a simple mixture of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and SiO nanoparticles (NPs). Various parameters were studied, such as deposition time as well as PDMS and SiO loadings.

Increased Plasma Pyruvate Kinase M2 (PK-M2) in Heart Failure: A Novel Biomarker Related to Cardiac Function and its Clinical Implications.

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether circulating pyruvate kinase M2 (PK-M2) levels are elevated in the peripheral blood and to assess their association with diagnosis and prognosis in patients with heart failure (HF).

Methods And Results: We conducted a prospective investigation involving 222 patients with HF and 103 control subjects, measuring PK-M2 concentrations using ELISA. The primary outcome, assessed over a median follow-up of 2 years (interquartile range: 776 to 926 days), was the time to the first occurrence of either rehospitalization for worsening HF or cardiovascular death.
