This ability can be enhanced by considering alternative solution concepts, such as those offered by game theory. View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The Dandy-Walker malformation (DWM) is one of the commonest congenital cerebellar defects, and can be associated with multiple congenital anomalies and chromosomal syndromes. The occurrence of overlapping 3q deletions including the ZIC1 and ZIC4 genes in few patients, along with data from mouse models, have implicated both genes in the pathogenesis of DWM.
Methods And Results: Using a SNP-array approach, we recently identified three novel patients carrying heterozygous 3q deletions encompassing ZIC1 and ZIC4.
We examined the predictive value of a paroxysmal EEG in children with febrile seizures seen at the University Pediatric Clinic, Skopje, Macedonia, between 1982 and 1984. This was the only facility providing EEG or neurologic consultation for children in Macedonia, and almost all children in the area who experienced a febrile seizure were referred to this facility. EEGs were classified as epileptiform if they contained spikes and sharp waves or spike wave complexes, which were either focal or generalized, and were considered abnormal for age and state.
