Searching for relevant publications is becoming more difficult with the increasing number of scientific articles. Text mining as a specific form of computer-based data analysis may be helpful in this context. Highlighting relations between authors and finding relevant publications concerning a specific subject using text analysis programs are illustrated graphically by 2 performed examples.

Thiopheneacetic acid Eltenac and derivatives were investigated in this study. In human whole blood experiments these derivatives were potent inhibitors of COX-2 (IC(50)=0.

In a series of congeneric ligands, surprising changes of protonation states occur and are overlaid on the binding process. They result from induced pK(a) shifts depending on the local environment experienced by the ligand and protein functional groups in the complex (induced dielectric fit).

Methods: Intestinal permeability coefficients were studied using Caco-2 monolayers and a reversed-phase HPLC method for quantitation.
Results: Apparent permeability coefficients Papp of compounds with a free amidino group were in general low (<10 x 10(-8) cm/s) and independent of the structure of the amide part (C-terminus).
