Tracheal squamous cell carcinoma treated endoscopically.

Malignant primary tracheal tumors are extremely rare. The most common malignant primary tracheal tumors are squamous cell carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinomas. In this brief report, we describe a patient who presented with a primary papillary squamous cell carcinoma in-situ at multiple areas in the trachea with a significant airway obstruction.

Iron medication-induced gastric mucosal injury.

Severe gastrointestinal erosion, ulcer, necrosis and strictures after an acute iron overdose are well described. However, gastric mucosal injury in patients receiving therapeutic iron has received only scant recognition despite its wide use. We report a case of iron medication-induced gastric mucosal injury in a 76-year-old male who presented with iron deficiency anemia and had been taking ferrous sulfate tablet for 4 years.
