Background: Dental trauma is a frequent injury seen commonly in young children. There is a link between malocclusion and the incidence of traumatic dental injuries. Orthodontic therapy has been suggested as a preventative measure in correcting unfavourable malocclusions and potentially avoiding traumatic dental injuries.

Assessment of oral disease burden among head and neck cancer patients in the Merseyside region.

Introduction Head and neck cancer (HANC) significantly impacts the oral cavity and dental health issues may complicate cancer treatment and post-treatment quality of life. Pre-treatment dental evaluation is critical for identifying and managing existing oral health problems. Aim: To determine whether full pulpotomy offers a less painful, improved health-related quality of life (HRQoL) compared with root canal treatment (RCT) in cases of irreversible pulpitis (IP) in the 7 days after the treatment.

Methodology: One hundred sixty-eight participants presenting with symptoms of IP were randomized to either pulpotomy (n = 86) or RCT (n = 82).

Background: Analysis of the survival of root-filled posterior teeth and the associated prognostic tooth-related factors will enable clinicians to predict the outcome of root canal treatment.

Objectives: To investigate (i) the survival of root-filled posterior teeth and (ii) the tooth-related factors that may affect their survival.

Methods: Randomized controlled trials, comparative studies and observational studies assessing survival rates of root-filled posterior teeth with a minimum 4-year follow-up period were identified through an electronic search of the following databases up to January 2023: The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Medline via PubMed, the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Embase, Web of Science and NIHR centre for reviews and dissemination.
