Purpose: The learning curve of a single surgeon performing hip arthroscopy is reported to be steep, but, to date, the inflection point after which procedures are more successful is still unknown. The aim of this study was to design a learning curve focused on clinical outcomes, complications and revision/conversion rates.

Methods: Seventy-one hip arthroscopies performed for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) by a single surgeon, with a minimum follow-up of 5 years, were considered.

: Unexpected infections diagnosed after intraoperative cultures in aseptic revision hip arthroplasties are infrequent, but the features and outcomes of culture-positive cases are still poorly understood. A single-center retrospective study was conducted to assess the following: (1) the incidence, (2) the profile of the cases, and (3) the outcomes of the revision hips performed for presumed aseptic reasons that became septic after intraoperative cultures. Instances of first-time aseptic revision hips (a retrospective cohort study) in the hospital database were reviewed.

Article Synopsis
  • Single-taper conical tapered stems (STCTSs) are evaluated for their effectiveness in total hip arthroplasty (THA) for primary osteoarthritis, comparing their outcomes with other cementless stems.
  • The study analyzed data from 1,773 STCTS cases against 37,944 cementless stem cases, showing that both cohorts had similar long-term survival rates, but STCTSs performed slightly better in terms of revision rates and survival for women under 65.
  • Overall, STCTSs showed reliable long-term results, establishing them as a viable option for femoral reconstruction in THA that is comparable to other cementless stem designs.

Low back pain is a prevalent condition affecting 60-85% of individuals during their lifetime. Despite various proposed mechanisms, the etiology of low back pain remains unclear. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of combining ultrasound-guided infiltrations with early rehabilitation in reducing pain and improving functional limitations in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain.

Introduction: Comparative studies evaluating the different material and surface finishing of acetabular components in total hip arthroplasty (THA) are lacking. Using a regional arthroplasty registry, the survival rates and the hazard ratios of different cups in THA performed for primary osteoarthritis were assessed, using endpoints: (1) every cup failure, (2) cup aseptic loosening, (3) periprosthetic infection.

Materials And Methods: The inclusion criteria were: residing patients, THA for primary osteoarthritis, Delta-on-Delta bearings, head sizes 32 mm and 36 mm.
