Resveratrol and Female Fertility: A Systematic Review.

Resveratrol is a natural polyphenolic compound that may have multiple influences on human health, including antiaging, anti-inflammatory, anti-neoplastic, antioxidant, insulin-sensitizing, cardioprotective and vasodilating activities. Growing evidence also suggests a potential positive effect of resveratrol on female fertility. The aim of the present study was to collate and appraise the scientific literature on the relationship between resveratrol and female fertility.

Flowers come in a variety of colours, shapes, sizes and odours. Flowers also differ in the quality and quantity of nutritional reward they provide to entice potential pollinators to visit. Given this diversity, generalist flower-visiting insects face the considerable challenge of deciding which flowers to feed on and which to ignore.

Leaf water potential measurements using the pressure chamber: Synthetic testing of assumptions towards best practices for precision and accuracy.

Leaf water potential (ψ ), typically measured using the pressure chamber, is the most important metric of plant water status, providing high theoretical value and information content for multiple applications in quantifying critical physiological processes including drought responses. Pressure chamber measurements of ψ (ψ ) are most typical, yet, the practical complexity of the technique and of the underlying theory has led to ambiguous understanding of the conditions to optimize measurements. Consequently, specific techniques and precautions diversified across the global research community, raising questions of reliability and repeatability.

Study Objective: The mutual distrust, in part caused by misunderstanding and bias, between sickle cell disease (SCD) patients and their emergency department (ED) providers has been widely documented in the SCD literature. This study seeks to illustrate the perceptions and experiences of adult sickle cell patients who have had at least 1 ED experience in the last 2 years.

Methods: Qsource, a nonprofit health care consultancy based in Tennessee, used photovoice, a qualitative research method, to facilitate the representation of patients' experiences in living with SCD.
