Each living organism is unique because of the lipid identity of its organelles. The diverse distribution of these molecules also contributes to the role of each organelle in cellular activity. The lipid profiles of whole embryos are well documented in the literature.

Addition effects of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and its synthetic analogue insulin-like growth factor-1 recombinant-3 (LongR3-IGF-1) after in vitro maturation (IVM) of cattle cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were compared and evaluated on meiotic progression, apoptosis and profile genes of oocyte competence (GDF9, BMP15, BAX, BCL2, OOSP1, IGFBP2, IGBFP4 and IGFBP5), and their respective cumulus cells (AREG, EGFR, FSHR, COX2, BAX, BCL2, IGFBP2, IGFBP4 and IGFBP5). The 739 COCs (n = 10 pools) of bovine ovaries were collected, selected and matured with IGF-1 (100 ng/mL), LongR3-IGF-1 (100 ng/mL), and in two control groups with 0.1% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS), for 22-24 h.

Fibrin scaffold fits as a provisional platform promoting cell migration and proliferation, angiogenesis, connective tissue formation and growth factors stimulation. We evaluated a unique heterologous fibrin biopolymer as scaffold to mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to treat a critical-size bone defect. Femurs of 27 rats were treated with fibrin biopolymer (FBP); FBP + MSCs; and FBP + MSC differentiated in bone lineage (MSC-D).

Although stem cell therapy is a promising alternative for treatment of degenerative diseases, there are just few reports on the use of stem cells therapy in horse's reproductive system. This study aims to evaluate the effect of intratesticular injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (MSCs) in healthy stallions, and its outcome on seminal parameters and fertility. In Experiment 1, 24 stallions were divided into treatment group (TG) and control group (CG).

The present study evaluated the effects of the blockade of meiosis in bovine oocytes by the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors roscovitine (ROS) and butyrolactone-I (BL-I) on nuclear maturation and extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2), cyclin B1 and p34 protein expression and localization. We also evaluated ultrastructural changes in oocytes. Immature oocytes were obtained from slaughtered bovines and divided into: (1) control (oocytes for in vitro maturation only in tissue culture medium-199 for 24 h), (2) oocytes that were treated with 12.
