In 2018, we introduced perioperative administration of intravenous immunoglobulin enriched in IgM as an optional therapy in recipients at a high risk of infection. Introduction: The use of grafts from donation after circulatory death (DCD) is an important additional source to implement within the donor pool. We herein report the outcomes of our early experience with DCD grafts for liver transplantation (LT).

Methods: Ten patients successfully underwent LT with grafts from DCD donors between August 2017 and January 2019 at the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Liver Transplant Unit of University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Recurrent differentiated thyroid carcinoma can easily be detected by means of ultrasound (US) and thyroglobulin, and often requires further surgical intervention. Revision surgery is often a technical challenge with significant risk of complications, considering the altered anatomy, with a possibility of leaving behind residual neoplasm. Preoperative US-guided tattooing localization has been introduced to reduce and prevent these potential problems during revision surgery.
