Definitive evidence for the direct band gap predicted for Wurtzite Gallium Phosphide (WZ GaP) nanowires has remained elusive due to the lack of strong band-to-band luminescence in these materials. In order to circumvent this problem, we successfully obtained large volume WZ GaP structures grown by nanoparticle-crawling assisted Vapor-Liquid-Solid method. With these structures, we were able to observe bound exciton recombination at 2.

Article Synopsis
  • A case of a 20-year-old male with severe respiratory distress due to unresectable papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) showcases successful treatment with sorafenib, leading to tumor reduction that permitted surgery and additional therapies.
  • The patient's condition remained stable for four years post-diagnosis, indicating sorafenib's potential role as an induction therapy for previously unresectable differentiated thyroid carcinomas.

Memcomputing is a novel non-Turing paradigm of computation that uses interacting memory cells (memprocessors for short) to store and process information on the same physical platform. It was recently proven mathematically that memcomputing machines have the same computational power of nondeterministic Turing machines. Therefore, they can solve NP-complete problems in polynomial time and, using the appropriate architecture, with resources that only grow polynomially with the input size.
