Background And Aims: Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) retrospectively evaluates mean glycemia in the preceding 2-3 months and is the gold standard for assessing glycemic control, while glycated albumin (GA) is currently considered a short to intermediate term integrated glycemic control marker, since it reflects glycemic status over the last 3 weeks. We aimed to investigate the levels of GA, HbA1c and fasting glycemia in a group of patients with type 2 diabetes.

Methods: The observational study included adult type 2 diabetes patients (n=135) according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, randomly selected from Clinical Centre of Diabetes, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

N(6)-methyladenosine (m(6)A) is the most prevalent internal modification of messenger RNA (mRNA) in higher eukaryotes. Here we report ALKBH5 as another mammalian demethylase that oxidatively reverses m(6)A in mRNA in vitro and in vivo. This demethylation activity of ALKBH5 significantly affects mRNA export and RNA metabolism as well as the assembly of mRNA processing factors in nuclear speckles.

The issue of antipsychotics in psychiatry constituted a revolution at the time. The firsts, starting with chlorpromazine represent the conventional antipsychotics, in the last decades there was a new generation of antipsychotics, atypical, which improved the results in treating psychoses. Because, as any drug, it may have adverse effects we aimed an experimental study on rats to observe the toxic potential on liver of both generations of antipsychotics.
