Article Synopsis
  • The study explored how hesperidin (HES) impacts testicular health in rats exposed to glyphosate (GLP), assessing histopathological and biochemical changes as well as semen characteristics.
  • Rats were divided into four groups: one without GLP or HES (control), one with HES, one with GLP, and one with both GLP and HES.
  • Results indicated that GLP negatively affected sperm quality and testicular tissue, while HES counteracted these effects, improving sperm parameters, antioxidant levels, and reducing oxidative damage.

Baicalein (B) has potential antioxidant properties, but it has not been tested as a ram semen extender. This study aimed to assess the impact of B on various sperm parameters and determine its potential influence on semen quality after the freeze-thawing process. During the breeding season, ejaculates were obtained from four rams with the aid of an artificial vagina.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of proanthocyanidin (PA) on spermatological parameters and testicular toxicity in male rats exposed to glyphosate (GLP). In our study, four groups were formed out of 24 male rats, each group would include 6 rats. The rats in the PA group were given a dose of 400 mg/kg/day dissolved in DMSO via gastric gavage.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explored the effects of hydrated carbon 60 fullerene (C HyFn) on frozen-thawed ram sperm, assessing morphological, functional, and molecular changes.
  • Semen from seven Akkaraman rams was pooled, diluted with varying C HyFn concentrations, frozen, and analyzed for motility and molecular markers.
  • Results showed that C HyFn significantly improved sperm motility and mitochondrial activity while reducing sperm damage and specific gene expressions, suggesting its potential in enhancing semen quality post-freezing.

To the best of our knowledge, no research has been conducted to test the effects of syringic acid (SA) on ram semen freezing within the scope of natural antioxidants added to semen extenders. Therefore, this study had two main objectives. First, to test whether adding SA to ram semen freezing extender has a protective effect and contributes positively to sperm kinetic, plasma and acrosome integrity, mitochondrial membrane potential, lipid peroxidation, oxidant and antioxidant and DNA damage parameters after thawing.
