Motor and postural support constitute two important points in the strategies deployed in this regard. We examined 45 articles and 4 reports from safety agencies. These studies recommend a tub bath (rather than a sponge bath) for full-term infants and a swaddle bath for preterm newborns.

Recent studies revealed that this grasping was not only a pure reflex because human newborns are able to detect and to remember differences in shape features. It is characterized by a distinctive facial appearence, a cluster of minor and major anomalies, and central nervous system dysfunction.
