Background: Previous registries have shown a younger average age at presentation with cardiovascular diseases in the Middle East (ME), but no study has examined atrioventricular block (AVB). Moreover, these comparisons are confounded by younger populations in the ME. We sought to describe the average age at presentation with AVB in ME and quantify the effect of being from ME, adjusted for the overall younger population.

Krukenburg tumour: Role of 18F-FDG PET/CT in identifying the primary site.

Krukenberg tumours are a rare form of metastatic tumours of the ovary. They primary site is usually the gastro-intestinal system with the most common being gastric cancer. We present the case of a 35-year-old female coming in with a large pelvi-abdominal mass for investigation.

Regional variations in patient selection and procedural characteristics for cryoballoon ablation of atrial fibrillation in the cryo global registry.

Background: Cryoballoon ablation is a well-established anatomical approach for pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Although widely adopted, regional variations in standards of care have not been well characterized.

Methods: Patients with AF were enrolled in the Cryo Global Registry (NCT02752737) from May 2016 to Sept 2021 at 128 sites in 37 countries and treated with cryoballoon ablation according to local clinical practice.

Spontaneous Resolution of Tractional Retinal Detachment in a Type II Diabetic Patient.

A 43 years old male with diabetes type II was under treatment for diabetic retinopathy with extramacular tractional retinal detachment (TRD) in the left eye OS. During the follow-up visit, the patient had a drop in vision from 20/25 to 20/60. The TRD was found to have progressed to involve the macula and was threatening the fovea; therefore, vitrectomy was thought to be inevitable.

Paediatric metastatic ganglioneuroblastoma on 68Ga-DOTA NOC PET-CT.

68Ga-DOTA NOC PET-CT imaging has been shown to have high accuracy for the evaluation of neuroendocrine tumours. We report a case of a 3-year-old boy who presented with a right paravertebral soft tissue mass. Biopsy showed ganglioneuroblastoma.
