The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and respective shutdowns dramatically altered human activities, potentially changing human pressures on urban-dwelling animals. Here, we use such COVID-19-induced variation in human presence to evaluate, across multiple temporal scales, how urban birds from five countries changed their tolerance towards humans, measured as escape distance. We collected 6369 escape responses for 147 species and found that human numbers in parks at a given hour, day, week or year (before and during shutdowns) had a little effect on birds' escape distances.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) secondary to is rare, impacting <1% globally, with a mortality rate of up to 31%. Herein, we present a rare case of HLH secondary to , affecting a 57-year-old female with rheumatoid arthritis. Extensive investigations were unrevealing and despite broad-spectrum antibiotics, her condition worsened, leading to respiratory failure requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support, shock requiring multiple vasopressors, and acute kidney injury (AKI) requiring hemodialysis.

In adults, 68 Ga-FAP inhibitor ( 68 Ga-FAPI) PET/CT outperforms 68 Ga-radiolabeled somatostatin analog peptides ( 68 Ga PET/CT) and 18 F-FDG PET/CT in detecting thyroid lesions. This is the case of a 13-year-old boy newly diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer with high calcitonin level. 68 Ga PET/CT revealed the presence of only a primary thyroid lesion.

Spinal involvement of infantile hemangiomas is rare with the predilection to involve the epidural space. A proper diagnosis might be challenging due to the atypical location and variable/inconsistent use of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) classification by radiologists, pathologists, and clinicians.
