A 75-year-old female presented with fasting hypoglycemic episodes. A supervised fast ended at 72 hours fulfilling Whipple triad, with suppressed insulin and C-peptide levels, but discordantly suppressed serum β-hydroxybutyrate levels. After 21 months of recurring symptoms, a repeat fast ended at 48 hours with Whipple triad, suppressed serum β-hydroxybutyrate level, and borderline nonsuppressed C-peptide level, suggesting endogenous hyperinsulinism.

Nasopharyngeal swabs and serum specimens from 90 pregnant and 278 age-matched non-pregnant women were collected from 15 March 2020 to 23 July 2021 at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in New York City. Multiplex reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, neutralizing antibody, and cytokine array assays were used to assess the incidence, viral load, antibody titers and profiles, and examine cytokine expression patterns.

An important biomolecule that determines this function is the large aggregating proteoglycan of cartilage, aggrecan. Aggrecan has a relatively short half-life in cartilage and therefore continuous production of this molecule is essential.

To clarify the role of tRFs in autoimmunity we studied circulating tRF-levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and in a murine model for arthritis.
Material And Methods: Circulating tRF-levels were quantified by miR-Q RT-qPCR.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic synovial inflammation and cartilage/bone damage. Intercellular messengers such as IL-1 and TNF play a crucial role in the pathophysiology of RA but have limited diagnostic and prognostic values. Therefore, we assessed whether the protein content of the recently discovered extracellular vesicles (EVs), which have gained attention in the pathogenesis of RA, correlates with disease activity parameters in RA patients.
