Systematic review and meta-analysis of interventions to improve outcomes for parents or carers of children with anxiety and/or depression.

Question: Depression and anxiety are common among children and young people and can impact on the well-being of their parents/carers. Dominant intervention approaches include parent training; however, this approach does not directly address parents' well-being. Our objective was to examine the effect of interventions, with at least a component to directly address the parents' own well-being, on parents' well-being outcomes, including stress, depression and anxiety.

The indignities of shielding during the COVID-19 pandemic for people with sickle cell disorders: an interpretative phenomenological analysis.

This article seeks to understand the first-hand experiences of people with sickle cell, a recessively inherited blood disorder, who were identified as clinically extremely vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Part of a larger sequential mixed-methods study, this article uses a selective sample of eight qualitative semi-structured interviews, which were analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). The first stage of IPA focused on practical concerns participants had correlated to understanding shielding and their feelings about being identified as clinically extremely vulnerable.

Hepatocellular Carcinoma: The Role of Surgery in Liver Cirrhosis.

Background: Liver surgery is an essential component of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treatment. Advances in surgical techniques and perioperative care have improved outcomes and have helped to expand surgical indications. However, liver fibrosis and cirrhosis still remain major problems for liver surgery due to the relevant impact on liver regeneration of the future liver remnant (FLR) after surgery.

Predictive Model for the Non-Invasive Diagnosis of Endometriosis Based on Clinical Parameters.

Objectives: Are other pain symptoms in addition to dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, dyschezia, dysuria, and chronic pelvic pain correlated to endometriosis and suitable for a clinical prediction model?

Methods: We conducted a prospective study from 2016 to 2022, including a total of 269 women with numerous pain symptoms and other parameters. All women filled out two questionnaires and were examined by palpation and transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS). In cases of suspected deep endometriosis, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed.

Hypothermic Oxygenated Machine Perfusion (HOPE) Prior to Liver Transplantation Mitigates Post-Reperfusion Syndrome and Perioperative Electrolyte Shifts.

(1) Background: Post-reperfusion syndrome (PRS) and electrolyte shifts (ES) represent considerable challenges during liver transplantation (LT) being associated with significant morbidity. We aimed to investigate the impact of hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE) on PRS and ES in LT. (2) Methods: In this retrospective study, we compared intraoperative parameters of 100 LTs, with 50 HOPE preconditioned liver grafts and 50 grafts stored in static cold storage (SCS).
