Reliable radical precursors are crucial for photocatalytic processes. In particular, heteroatom-stabilized radicals have attracted considerable research interest in photocatalysis. Among them, α-amino radicals have received the most attention, while the research on α-hydroxy radicals is much less developed.

Food reward consists of two branches: gustatory and post-ingestive nutritive information. Drosophila lacking dSLC5A11 (sodium/glucose cotransporter 6-SGLT6) prefer L-glucose over D-glucose independently of their state of satiety.

Although this therapy is regarded safe, multicenter data from routine application are limited. We investigated direct adsorption of lipoproteins (DALI) and lipofiltration (MONET) regarding the short and the long-term safety aspects.

In this multicenter observational study we investigated direct adsorption of lipoproteins (DALI) and lipoprotein filtration (MONET) for the short and the long-term effects on lipid-lowering effects.
Methods: Data of 122 apheresis patients from 11 centers (DALI: n = 78, MONET: n = 44) were prospectively collected for a period of 2 years.
A potent, in vivo efficacious 11β hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β HSD1) inhibitor (11j) has been identified. Compound 11j inhibited 11β HSD1 activity in human adipocytes with an IC of 4.3nM and in primary human adipose tissue with an IC of 53nM.
