Background: The SARS-CoV-2 virus's frequent mutations have made disease control with vaccines and antiviral drugs difficult; as a result, there is a need for more effective coronavirus drugs. Therefore, detecting the expression of various diagnostic biomarkers, including ncRNA in SARS-CoV2, implies new therapeutic strategies for the disease.
Aim: Our study aimed to measure NEAT-1, miR-374b-5p, and IL6 in the serum of COVID-19 patients, demonstrating the correlation between target genes to explore the possible relationship between them.
The adsorption of trihalomethanes (THMs) from drinking water was investigated in the current study through comparison studies of kaolinite and ZnO@kaolinite nanocomposites. The clay structural network's successful immobilization on the zincite hexagonal structure of ZnO nanoparticles' lattice layers was verified by the SEM/EDX analysis. Under the optimum conditions, the maximum removal of THMs was achieved by kaolinite and ZnO@kaolinite nanocomposites after 60 min.

Although hepcidin and erythroferrone have been described as novel biomarkers of iron metabolism, there is still an area of ambiguity regarding iron utility in anemia-associated end-stage renal disease.
Objectives: This study aims to determine the correlations between erythropoietin, erythroferrone, and hepcidin-25 in hemodialysis, and to evaluate the clinical utility of the hepcidin-25/erythroferrone ratio as a biomarker of erythropoiesis-stimulating agent effectiveness compared to reticulocyte maturation parameters.
Adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein (A-FABP; FABP4) plays a significant role in the pathogenesis and progression of metabolically driven low-grade inflammation and organ damage. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of circulating FABP4 as a predictive and diagnostic biomarker for thalassemia-associated cardiometabolic events. This case-control study enrolled 50 adults with β-thalassemia and 30 age-, sex-, and body mass index-matched controls.

A retrospective analysis of pediatric patients diagnosed and treated with APL was conducted at CCHE from July 2012 to the end of December 2019, to report the prevalence, clinical characteristics, results, and risk factors associated with induction failure and early death.
Result: Sixty-two patients were reported, with an age greater than ten, an initial poor coagulation profile, and a total leukocyte count (TLC) greater than 30 10/mm influencing 5-year overall (OS) and event-free survival (EFS), as well as a high promyelocyte count affecting 5-year EFS.
Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) has emerged as an accelerated-incidence chronic condition. UC has been identified as a precancerous lesion for colorectal cancer. Up-to-date genomic research revealed the value of many noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) in UC pathogenesis, diagnosis, and prognosis.

Objective: We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical functional hemoglobin and red cell abnormalities in donated blood of Fayoum University Hospital in Egypt. Additionally, to assess the usefulness of reticulocyte mean hemoglobin content (RET-He) and immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF) as screening measures for such abnormalities.
Introduction: controlling the worldwide pandemic, coronavirus disease (COVID-19), could be impossible due to the hesitancy about the available vaccines and the difficulty to implement strict restrictions. Little information is available about herd immunity in the highly vulnerable region of North East Africa, Egypt. The objective of this study was to assess the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 during the pandemic in one of the highly vulnerable populations in Egypt, the Fayoum district of Fayoum Governorate.

Many studies reported that the water of Qaroun Lake in Fayoum, Egypt with its fish farms was contaminated with Pb and Cd above permissible levels. However, there is a lack of studies addressing levels of these toxic metals among inhabitants.

Aim: While most studies in the field have focused on the functional roles of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) NEAT1, GAS5, and HOTAIR in CVS, less attention has been paid to their clinical relevance to stroke incidence and prognosis.
: Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE) is a chronic systemic autoimmune disorder whose diagnosis depends on combination of multiple factors. Circulating lncRNAs could serve as diagnostic non-invasive biomarkers for SLE. We hypothesised that serum FAS-AS1 and PVT1 are new biomarkers for SLE that relate to clinical features and laboratory markers.

To elucidate its role in colorectal cancer risk, we genotyped rs1859168 A>C and measured serum HOTTIP expression level in colorectal cancer, adenomatous polyposis patients and controls by real-time polymerase chain reaction.

The present work was performed on 100 Egyptian patients with HBV from the National Hepatology and Tropical Medicine Institute and 70 healthy volunteers as control group. The participants were subjected to full medical history taking, clinical examination, and laboratory investigations.

Objectives: To determine the prevalence of, and risk factors for, colic in a working horse population in Egypt and to describe management practices in this working horse population.
In 1984, the Center for Educational Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago began to offer its Master of Health Professions Education leadership programme to 13 medical teachers on-site at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. The central issue in this project was whether two institutions on different continents and representing different cultures could collaboratively develop and implement a relevant graduate programme. Of equal concern was whether the degree programme could be adapted to meet the needs of the teachers of a new innovative medical school in a developing country.
