Background: The SARS-CoV-2 virus's frequent mutations have made disease control with vaccines and antiviral drugs difficult; as a result, there is a need for more effective coronavirus drugs. Therefore, detecting the expression of various diagnostic biomarkers, including ncRNA in SARS-CoV2, implies new therapeutic strategies for the disease.

Aim: Our study aimed to measure NEAT-1, miR-374b-5p, and IL6 in the serum of COVID-19 patients, demonstrating the correlation between target genes to explore the possible relationship between them.

Management of trihalomethanes in water by ZnO@kaolinite composite: integrated experimental and modeling studies.

The adsorption of trihalomethanes (THMs) from drinking water was investigated in the current study through comparison studies of kaolinite and ZnO@kaolinite nanocomposites. The clay structural network's successful immobilization on the zincite hexagonal structure of ZnO nanoparticles' lattice layers was verified by the SEM/EDX analysis. Under the optimum conditions, the maximum removal of THMs was achieved by kaolinite and ZnO@kaolinite nanocomposites after 60 min.

LncRNA HOTTIP is a new lncRNA that is strictly linked to the susceptibility, growth, propagation, and prognosis of several human cancers together with colorectal cancer. lncRNA HOTTIP rs1859168 may confer colorectal cancer susceptibility through regulating its gene expression level. To elucidate its role in colorectal cancer risk, we genotyped rs1859168 A>C and measured serum HOTTIP expression level in colorectal cancer, adenomatous polyposis patients and controls by real-time polymerase chain reaction.

Association between Severity of Liver Disease, Frequency of Infection, and Degree of Gastric Lesion in Egyptian Patients with Hepatitis B Virus Infection.

The relationship between hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, severity of liver disease, frequency of infection, and degree of gastric lesions was not yet fully investigated in Egyptian patients. The present work was performed on 100 Egyptian patients with HBV from the National Hepatology and Tropical Medicine Institute and 70 healthy volunteers as control group. The participants were subjected to full medical history taking, clinical examination, and laboratory investigations.

A collaboration between two innovative medical education programmes in Egypt and the United States.

In 1984, the Center for Educational Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago began to offer its Master of Health Professions Education leadership programme to 13 medical teachers on-site at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. The central issue in this project was whether two institutions on different continents and representing different cultures could collaboratively develop and implement a relevant graduate programme. Of equal concern was whether the degree programme could be adapted to meet the needs of the teachers of a new innovative medical school in a developing country.
