Purpose: Long axial field-of-view (LAFOV) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scanners enable high sensitivity and wide anatomical coverage. Therefore, they seem ideal to perform post-selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) Y scans, which are needed, to confirm that the dose is delivered to the tumors and that healthy organs are spared. However, it is unclear to what extent the use of LAFOV PET is feasible and which dosimetry approaches results in accurate measurements.

The liver and kidneys are important organs for body homeostasis but susceptible to damage or injury caused by different factors. A number of medicinal plants, such as have been proven effective in protecting the liver and kidneys from damage. Therefore, the present study aimed to examine the effect of extract (CcE) on paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity and gentamicin-induced nephrotoxicity in rat model.

Investigating hidden hazards and implementing closed-loop management are essential strategies for accident prevention in the mining industry. This study tackles a key challenge in applying association rule mining to the development of hazard management plans for underground mines. The current approach mainly focuses on hazard description data, often underutilizing critical information such as hazard time and location.

Toxic environmental pollutants are considered to be posed a major threat to human and aquatic systems. The fast advancement of the petrochemical and chemical industries has woken up rising worries concerning the pollution of water by contaminants including phenolic Bisphenol A (BPA), an endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC). The intermediate BPA used in synthesis of certain plastics, polycarbonate polymers, polysulfone, and epoxy resins of various polyesters.

Background: The precise etiology of hypoplasia of the posterior mitral valve leaflet (PMVL) remains incompletely elucidated; however, it has been hypothesized to stem from genetic mutations occurring during fetal development. Herein, we present the anatomical characteristics of the mitral valve and associated cardiac pathologies in patients with hypoplastic PMVL.

Methods: This single-center retrospective study involved patients who presented between 2015 and 2021 at a tertiary healthcare facility.

Background: Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) afflict nearly 2 billion people worldwide and are caused by various pathogens, such as bacteria, protozoa, and trypanosoma, prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions. Among the 17 NTDs recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), protozoal infections caused by Plasmodium, Entamoeba, Leishmania, and Trypanosoma are particularly prominent and pose significant public health. Indonesia, endowed with a rich biodiversity owing to its tropical climate, harbors numerous plant species with potent biological activities that hold promise for therapeutic interventions.

Background: The co-occurrence of frailty, sarcopenia and malnutrition has been well studied in inpatient and nursing home settings, which are associated with a higher risk of all-cause mortality. However, multicentre data from community-dwelling outpatient settings are lacking. Therefore, we aimed to find the prevalence of frailty, possible sarcopenia and malnutrition, their overlap, and the associated factors in community-dwelling older outpatients.

CT-P13 is a biosimilar version of infliximab, a monoclonal antibody. In individuals with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), CT-P13 has been shown to be effective and to have a well-tolerated safety profile. The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term drug persistence, safety, and efficacy of infliximab biosimilar CT-P13 in patients with AS undergoing first-line (1st-line) and later (≥2nd-line) treatment in clinical practice.

In this study, the aim was to investigate the chemical content and in vitro antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities of petroleum ether (PE), dichloromethane (DCM), ethyl acetate (EA), and n-butanol (n-BuOH) fractions obtained from ethanol extracts of the aerial parts and roots of the endemic Wagenitz. This plant is found in the Aksaray-Eskil region and has not been studied in phytochemical studies before. In this context, the chemical content of the aerial parts and root PE fractions was analyzed by GC-MS analysis in terms of terpenes and steroid substances.

Background: Children with self-limited epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes often face language impairments and central auditory processing difficulties. The correlations between these issues, seizure timing, and neuropsychiatric challenges are not fully understood. This study delves into the connections between language impairments and central auditory processing difficulties in cases with self-limited epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes, examining their links with seizure occurrence and neuropsychiatric function.

Tofu whey wastewater is the protein-rich liquid by-product of tofu production that has the potential as a source stream for biobased products. Coagulation can be used to recover protein from tofu whey. Biobased coagulants are alternatives for polymer- and metal-based coagulants, particularly if the precipitate is recovered and used for further processes.

Background: Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas are the seventh most common cancer accounting for 90 % of malignant neoplasia of the upper respiratory system. KRAS is a very important oncogene, leading to the suppression of apoptosis, and promoting the pathogenesis and development of tumors. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are highly conserved, small noncoding RNA molecules aberrantly expressed in various pathologies including regulation of tumor and metastasis-associated genes.

Background: The 2022 WHO guidelines on multi-drug/rifampicin resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB) recommend six months of bedaquiline (Bdq) in the all-oral 9-month shorter regimen and six months or longer for Bdq and delamanid (Dlm) in the 18-20-month longer regimen. However, lack of evidence on extended treatment using Bdq or Dlm has limited their use to six months. We examine the frequency and incidence of QT prolongation based on duration of Bdq and/or Dlm use in longer regimens.

This study introduces an innovative approach to image classification that uses Gaussian copulas with an Empirical Cumulative Distribution Function (ECDF) approach. The strategic use of distribution functions as feature descriptors simplifies the approach and enables a better understanding of the correlation structure between features in the image. This approach helps the model understand the contextual relationships between different parts of the image, resulting in a more abstract representation than a direct representation of individual pixel values.
