The shift from electronic identification to digital identity is indicative of a shift in the spirit of the European texts. Whereas the legislator had thought of a purely technical identification process in 2014, in 2021 it is focusing on the role of the individual. The individual must be at the heart of the decision-making process as soon as data relating to his or her identity are concerned.

The behavior of radiation-induced attenuation (RIA) regarding dose and dose rate is discussed. Our results reveal high sensitivities for both types of fibers at low gamma ray doses and also reveal that Al/Tm fibers are very promising at original interrogation wavelengths for dosimetry applications.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFRadiation-induced attenuation (RIA) at 1542 nm of fluorine-doped fibers under gamma radiation source has been investigated for different dose rates and temperatures. Both the temperature and dose rate dependencies are unusual. First, the fiber presents an enhanced low dose rate sensitivity that is favored by increasing temperature.

To this end, one of the most challenging topics remains accurately forecasting the solar resource at a short-term horizon. Indeed, in CSP plants, production is directly impacted by both the availability and variability of the solar resource and, more specifically, by Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI).

The French accreditation body (COFRAC) recommends an approach (SH GTA 14 IQC/EQA method) using both internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assessment (EQA) data. The aim of this work was to validate an alternative way to quantify UM using only EQA results without any need for IQC data.

Current events of clinical laboratories in France argue a lot about quality management. Setting up an assurance quality system can be realized in many approaches listed by increasing requirements: respect of reglementary Guide de bonne exécution des analyses (GBEA), BioQualite qualification, certification and at last accreditation. This last step corresponds to the recognition of the competence of the laboratory to execute specifics tasks.

Quality control schemes are a practical tool used in clinical laboratories and an essential element for any quality assurance process. In France, external quality assessment schemes (EQAS) can be mandatory (as national quality control organized by AFSSAPS) or voluntary as those suggested by French associations (ProBioQual, CTCB or Asqualab). These EQAS usually evaluate participants according to their performances: this ranking depends on acceptability limits which are here compared.

With this control, we have evaluated the specificity and the sensitivity of techniques used. We have tested the maprotiline reactivity too (tetracyclic antidepressant).

Serum digoxin measurement is often performed in medical laboratories. A professional association specialized in quality control, based in Lyon, has been organizing punctual controls of medication measurement for the past ten years. The results are analysed in term of intra and inter-technique precision, difference between methods and specificity in regard to endogenous or exogenous interfering substances.

We investigated the precision and accuracy of individual methods and measurement systems routinely used in the monthly control for 13 analytes: albumin, alpha-amylase, calcium, chloride, creatinine, glucose, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, total protein, sodium, urea, and urate. The number of laboratories participating in the program increased from 60 in 1986 to 277 in 1999.

Methods: Bilateral thoracotomy was performed on eight guinea pigs weighing 865 to 1,464 g, and two sutures were positioned in the right ventricular apex for the purpose of pacing.
Guinea pigs are frequently used as models for ventricular tachyarrhythmias, including polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation. However, applications of the model for short-term therapies are limited because the arrhythmias are transient, typically lasting <5 sec. Thus, spontaneous termination cannot be easily distinguished from effective short-term therapy in standard models.

Normal adult Dirofilaria immitis from a microfilaremic donor dog and D. immitis from donors rendered microfilaria (MF) negative by seven consecutive monthly doses of milbemycin oxime (500 micrograms/kg) were transplanted into three previously uninfected and untreated dogs. Two dogs received reciprocal combinations of treated and untreated D.
