A dual isotope tracer method, based on plasma isotopic enrichment ratios, has been proposed to determine true digestibility in humans. In a pilot study, we aimed to evaluate whether this method could be implemented in rats to determine AA bioavailability based on isotopic enrichment ratios measured in cecal digesta or plasma samples.

Background: Treatment fidelity is the extent to which a study team adheres to the dictates of a study protocol. It ensures that the intervention has been implemented as intended. Including and monitoring treatment fidelity reduces threats to validity and is vital to providing reputable, sound research.

The purpose of this article is to review the nursing literature related to professional boundary violations in nursing. A search was conducted using CINAHL, MEDLINE, Ebscohost, and NCSBN. The key words searched were professional boundaries, boundary violation, boundary crossings, nurse, home health nurses, and home nursing.

Ageism among health care providers and interventions to improve their attitudes toward older adults: an integrative review.

The purpose of this study was to review relevant literature on ageism among health care providers and assess interventions used to improve their attitudes toward older adults. Literature published between 1983 and 2011 was reviewed using the keywords attitudes, older adults, nursing, and nursing students using CINAHL, MEDLINE, and the Education Resources Information Center. Previous relevant research is discussed and includes studies categorized according to health care provider populations: (a) nurses, (b) nursing students, (c) medical students, and (d) direct care workers.
